The All-New Sunday Music & Dining Club
After some consultation with East Staffordshire Council and the EHO we think we have the solution to the indoor music issues from October onwards. Clearly the weather won't be staying fine so we wondered how we might bring the music back indoors.
The answer is the SUNDAY MUSIC & DINERS CLUB.
On the last Sunday of every month we will present gigs from artistes of a grouping of two or three musicians.
The attendance will be limited to around 30-40 people, it will be seated and tables will remain at a two metre distance.
Clearly the costs from bands/musicians remain high and not fully cost effective with a smaller audience so we are asking attendees to purchase tickets in advance for £10.00 and we will throw in a Sunday Lunch (puddings will be extra), obviously we will have to arrange a seating plan (and yes i know you all want to be near the band-won't happen!!)The profits we make on the food will help pay for the band, so we hope to get a bit back over the bar and it's our way of thanking the regular attendees by putting on these sorely missed gigs as a lost leader.
Doors for these events will open at 4pm, dinner at 4.30pm sharp, bands on between 5.30 and 8pm (usual two sets).Admission by Ticket only, to reserve/pick up tickets contact Paul on 01283-820394, tickets should be out next week or so and payment IS in advance, because the tickets are in short supply and we don't want to be arsed about by promises of attendance and then no shows, that's only fair.
There will be a one way system in use for the toilets. Drinks will be table service and it has been requested that you keep your enthusiasms down to polite clapping. The band also have to show due diligence by keeping their distance from the customers while singing/performing.
All steps will continue to keep everyone safe during these trying times.
As well as the best local performers, we specialise in attracting nationally-known acts and festival favourites to appear in more informal 'stripped down' mode. Bands and artists who've played the Sunday Sessions include the likes of Merry Hell, Wille & The Bandits, Ferocious Dog, Gwyn Ashton, Ben Holder, Marc Eden, Neverland, Chris Hall (R Cajun), Scott Doonican - BarSteward Son, Jolly Jock, TwoMan Ting, Nina Baker, Sons Of Clogger, Mojosa and many more. Ali Campbell and UB40 used the pub as a venue for a national media event ahead of their reunion appearance at the nearby Bearded Theory Festival in 2014
